care instructions:
Apply a small amount to each cuticle by touching the dropper wand on each finger and rub in, making sure the entire area—cuticles, nails, and sides of fingertips—are wet with product. Goes on wet but will fully absorb without greasiness due to the deeply penetrating properties of jojoba oil and its non-comedogenic nature, bringing the other ingredients into the targeted tissue. Store in a cool, dry place.
what we love about Hāloa ʻĀina:
Hāloa ʻĀina embodies the spirit of restoration and sustainability through their commitment to reforestation, community education, and traditional Hawaiian land stewardship. Founded by Dr. Wade Lee and Lillian Lee on ancestral land in Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi Island, Hāloa ʻĀina produces the only USDA-certified organic Hawaiian sandalwood oil that meets international ISO standards for santalol content—making their Lāʻau ʻAla (Santalum Paniculatum) the highest quality endemic Hawaiian sandalwood available.
This Native Hawaiian-owned operation practices sustainable forestry by harvesting only dead and dying sandalwood trees via helicopter from dryland forests, ensuring that living host trees—primarily endemic koa—and surrounding native plants remain unharmed. For every Hawaiian sandalwood tree planted, a koa tree is nurtured alongside it, honoring the hemiparasitic relationship between these endemic species. The harvested sandalwood is then skillfully processed on-site into oil, hydrosol, and wood chips, creating a zero-waste cycle of growth and regeneration.
Dr. Lee's expertise and passion channel vital resources into the restoration of dryland forests and the rich biodiversity of Hawaiʻi Island as its natural watershed is restored. Through educational initiatives, he inspires the community to participate in reforestation efforts, fostering a kuleana—a collective responsibility—to "mālama ʻāina, mālama wai" (care for the land and freshwater). As more individuals and families engage in this mission, the initiative becomes a living embodiment of Hawaiian cultural values, promoting a sustainable future for generations to come.
At Kekoa Creative, we are honored to be the exclusive California retailer for Hāloa ʻĀina's Lāʻau ʻAla products. Support for Hāloa ʻĀina aligns with our commitment to honor and uplift Hawaiian culture, environmental stewardship, and cultural pride. By sharing their story and products, we encourage a deeper connection to the land, its history, and the living traditions of Hawaiian botanical knowledge. Together, we can help rebuild and sustain Hawaiʻi's precious ecosystems, ensuring that they flourish for years ahead.
