Hand-stamped across the chest with the He Mano Ka Niho motif in ʻAmaʻu Flame Orange using breathable, water-based Matsui Eco ink, leaving the reverse back cleanly unprinted. Engineered with exaggerated drop shoulders, an expansive wide chest, and a cropped lower hem that rests right at the natural hip. Built completely plastic-free without synthetic cords or metal hardware.

Pattern Moʻolelo: He Mano Ka Niho (2026 Collectorʻs Edition)

From our Mai Kahiko Mai design series, He Mano Ka Niho carries deliberate linguistic kaona (hidden meaning): spoken as he mano ka niho, it translates to "the teeth are multitudinous"—invoking ancestral lineage, collective fortitude, and countless generations. Spoken with the kahakō as he manō ka niho, it translates to "the teeth of the shark"—embodying fierce physical guardianship and the balancing duality between Pō (ancestral realm) and Ao (daylight realm).

Exclusively released for the Fall/Winter 2026 season, this hoodie pairs the sacred mountain berry hue of ʻōhelo with ʻamaʻu flame orange, honoring the vibrant new fronds of endemic upland ferns. Each year, Kekoa Creative issues a single limited run of this signature chest kāpala in an exclusive ink and garment-dye pairing, making each annual release an archival collector's piece.

Each piece is individually stamped by hand in our Richmond studio, resulting in subtle, one-of-a-kind variations across every garment.

  • Fit & Sizing: Relaxed, wide boxy crop with dropped shoulders and a high-rib hem resting right at the hip. Preshrunk. Available in our widest size gamut (XS–2XL). Model is 5'7", 164 lbs, 32" waist, wearing a size Medium.

  • 100% Plastic-Free Construction: Clean double-layer hood without polyester drawstrings or metal grommets; finished with a 100% bamboo neck label. Sheds zero microplastics and is backyard compostable at end of life.

  • Studio Dispatch: Hand-stamped and dispatched directly from Richmond, CA.
